About 500 years ago in China, Liao-Fan discovered a secret: everything in life is predetermined. At first, he accepted everything that happened to him as something that was fixed as his destiny. Then, later on, he discovered another secret: one’s destiny can be changed through accumulating merit by doing good deeds. Below is my personal experience and my viewpoints after reading the book written by Liao-Fan.
What is merit?
When a person does something good, such as performing good deeds, he earns merit.
What can merit do for us?
Merit can help us escape suffering and punishment due to the demerits that we accumulated from the past, whether it is the past in this life or our previous lives. Earning merit is like reducing one’s sins.
Another excellent use of merit is making a WISH. I’m not bluffing. I had a real-life experience with this. One day, my tooth suddenly hurt. The dentist advised me to remove the tooth, but I didn’t want to remove it. I was suffering so much at that moment, and then I thought about making a wish and using my merit to cure my toothache. In my heart, I said, ‘Heaven/Sky, I would like to make a wish, for all the merit that I had accumulated in the past, I want to exchange it to cure my toothache’. After a few minutes, my tooth no longer hurt. It really works like magic! But then I made another wish to cure my nasal congestion problem, which I have had since I was a kid, but it didn’t work. I believe this was because I did not have enough merit. It makes sense that a bigger problem would require more merit.
(Important things to be aware on making a wish – The first thing, if you don’t have a religious belief you can make your wish to Heaven/Sky, if you have a religious belief you can make your wish by changing the Heaven/Sky word to the God or Buddha that you believe, those produce the same effect and result. The second thing, please remember to say ‘’For all the merit that I had accumulated in the past I want to exchange it to……………..’’ The third thing, you can say your wish in any language also okay)
How do we earn merit?
I believe the EASIEST way to earn merit is by donating MONEY to people who are poor and desperately need it. You do not need to be a millionaire to start donating money. Ancient scriptures have stated that a small amount of money donated with a sincere heart is way better than donating millions of dollars.
Donating money is really easy, but a lot of people find it difficult. If you have a problem that you believe can’t be solved, you can try to donate money and then make a wish. If you do not get what you wanted, do not lose faith. Maybe you need to donate more money to earn more merit. If I have a big problem and want to solve it, I am willing to donate all the money that I have to find out whether my problem can be solved. Even if it does not work, do not blame the Heaven & Sky.
Another super easy way to earn tremendous merit is by persuading others to practice kindness according to Liao-Fan’s Four Lessons. You may share this post on your social media platforms to let your friends see it, and you may also tell and encourage your family, friends or relatives to read this book to help them change their destinies and solve their problems in life. When you do this, you will earn a lot of merit, and then you can make a wish on the small problem that you have to test whether this method can make your wish come true.
Before 2021, I never counted exactly how much money I donated, but my biggest one-time donation to a poor lady was RM1000. I would often give beggars at least RM10, and my biggest one-time donation to a beggar was RM300. I also donated RM50 every month to a non-profit pet shelter. As you can see, I wasn’t rich, and my donation amounts were small, but I still had the ability to donate money to those who needed it. You do not need to be a millionaire to donate money to poor people; you just have to be willing to do so if you have extra money.
After 2021, I’m no longer working for someone else. I’m a full-time investor, and I’ve invested a lot of my money in the stock market. Now, I consider myself as someone who is rich, and I am trying to give it back to society by donating money to those who desperately need it and spreading the teachings of this great book that can change anyone’s life. Since I have earned a lot of merit, many of my wishes have come true already, such as healing my nasal congestion, healing my skin itchiness, and stopping my saliva from coming out when I sleep.
